Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Satigo is committed to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions on our own operations by 2030.
Satigo is an ISO 14001 certified business.
Baseline Emissions Footprint and Current Emissions Reporting
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced by Satigo in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies or initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which future emissions reductions can be measured.
Baseline year (2023/4) emissions: 34.29 tCO2e
Category | Emissions |
---|---|
Scope 1 Emissions | 0 tCO2e * |
Scope 2 Emissions | 16.11 tCO2e |
Scope 3 Emissions | 18.19 tCO2e |
Total Emissions (in scope of PPN 06/21) | 34.29 tCO2e |
Carbon per employee metric (25) | 1.37 tCO2e/employee |
Current reporting year (2024/5) emissions: 5.04 tCO2e
Category | Emissions |
---|---|
Scope 1 Emissions | 0 tCO2e * |
Scope 2 Emissions | 1.56 tCO2e |
Scope 3 Emissions | 3.48 tCO2e |
Total Emissions (in scope of PPN 06/21) | 5.04 tCO2e |
Carbon per employee metric (15) | 0.34 tCO2e/employee |
* Scope 1 emissions are from sources owned or controlled by Satigo: currently there are no sources which fall within this category. E.g.
- Generation of electricity, heat or steam
- The transportation of materials or employees (no company vehicles)
- Fugitive emissions
- Manufacture or processing of chemicals and materials
Satigo work within a remote first environment meaning all staff WFH. On occasions (Once /Month), we work from our London Office located in the City of London and it is a fully serviced office.
Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to progress towards the objective of being Carbon Net Zero, Satigo has adopted a framework of carbon reduction targets and initiatives to ensure it can understand and reduce its carbon emissions, aiming for Net Zero by 2030.
Satigo projects that across all Scopes (1,2,3) carbon emissions will decrease over the next two years by a minimum of 50% from the 2023 baseline figure. In addition an additional 25% reduction will be made in the subsequent 2 years up to 2027.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Based on the number of employees at the end of each reporting year, Satigo’s emissions have decreased from 1.37 tonnes CO2e per employee to 0.34 tonnes CO2e per employee. This is a decrease of 75.2% using the emissions per employee as the chosen intensity metric. This reduction is heavily attributed to the transition to firstly downsizing our head office space and then transitioning our business to a WFH culture rising in zeroing our Net Office Carbon emissions and employee commuting.
Satigo has made a commitment to Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2030. Initial phases of Satigo Net Zero plan has been focused on Carbon reduction, the next phase has begun focusing on Carbon offsetting to bring us to a Net Zero status.
Satigo’s Net Zero policy has been driven by our ISO 14001 certified status.
Satigo continues to focus its carbon reduction efforts, in areas such as:
- Empowering the entire employee base to identify and promote reduction tasks
- Carbon reduction considerations within business meetings – switch to virtual and if not exploring environmentally friendly commuting option
- Ongoing education to reduce workplace and home-based energy use
- Increasing the awareness of Renewable Energy energy suppliers across all employees
- Incorporate environmental (rather than just social) volunteering days across all employees globally
